Does CBD Help with Nausea?

According to Grimson et al. (2020), CBD is effective when treating nausea and vomiting, conditions produced by therapeutic and chemotherapy. However, there is still research and discussion about this claim, some people who have used the product claim that it helped them deal with nausea. People who have cancer may always experience nausea or vomiting after chemotherapy. In animal research in 2011, the THC in CBD helps treat nausea by intercepting the serotine receptors. Serotine is a hormone that normally deals with mood, behavior, wellbeing, and overall mental health.

In another study carried out in 2016, cancer patients experienced nausea due to chemotherapy after consuming a medicinal pill made with CBD and THC ingredients. Moreover, the drug was more effective than normal drugs in suppressing nausea and vomiting.

Is CBD Addictive?

Black et al. (2007) concluded that CBD does not have any psychoactive effects; hence there is no way you will be addicted to it. CBD is mainly produced from the hemp plant. Although hemp has the same flakiness and species as cannabis, it doesn’t contain THC. THC is a compound in cannabis known to produce euphoria. This compound is addictive as it attaches itself to the endocannabinoid receptors near the brain. This influences the sense of pleasure and marks it to a certain b object. CBD does not have this feature; hence it is not addictive. Studies are still on to determine why CBD has no psychoactive and behavioral effects. There is no evidence of CBD addiction. Instead, it features several health benefits, and that’s why more people are getting their hands on the latest CBD products.

When To Take CBD Oil for Sleep

People having sleepless nights or suffering from insomnia will always reach out for CBD to get better sleep. You must take it at the right moment to bring out the effects. The best moments to induce CBD for better sleep are half an hour to an hour before bed. During this time, the body will absorb the CBD oil into the bloodstream and make it effective. The time taken for the CBD oil to take effect is affected by the method of administration. Taking CBD oil in foods and drinks will take a long time to be absorbed in the bloodstream than when you place drops under the tongue and then swallow.

Take a high dose for sedative effects while low doses for stimulation. For better effects, you can take close to 200 to 300 milligrams of CBD oil before bed.

Dietician MS, Lund University, Sweden Nutrition plays an important role in human life. Eating habits are one of the factors that affect our health. There is often a misconception among people that nutritionists force a very restrictive diet, but that is not true. In fact, I don't ban any products, but I point out dietary mistakes and help change them by giving tips and new recipes that I've tried myself. I advise my patients not to resist change and to be purposeful. Only with willpower and determination can a good result be achieved in any area of life, including changing eating habits. When I don't work, I love to go climbing. On a Friday evening, you are most likely to find me on my couch, cuddling with my dog and watching some Netflix.
