– Founder’s/Owner’s story and what motivated them to start the business

GEEGEE COLLECTION was founded in 2019 by British born designer Georgia Crossley who was on a mission to express her passion for art and textiles through fashion by creating garments that told a story and had their own unique identity.

Honing her design skills after graduating in Textiles design from the Manchester School of art, Georgina went on to work in the fashion houses of Alexander McQueen and Jenny Packham in London before embarking on her mission to create one of a kind, handmade items, entirely crafted by hand.

Georgia realised she could express her passion for art and textiles through fashion by creating pieces that told a story and had their own unique identity. Like an artist, she could create pieces that expressed her personality and made the wearer feel a certain way.

– The challenges/ opportunities the business/market is facing

In the world of fashion where there is so much competition from both old, established & new brands, it is crucial to create something both unique and different in order to succeed. The fact the world is ever changing and the current times are becoming more and more uncertain is also a great concern when running a business as you must prepare for ever circumstance.

– Advice to others about business 

If starting your own business is something you want to do and you have a good idea, I would say go for it! Do your research, take your time in planning, work hard at your vision and eventually all the pieces will fall into place.

With a looming recession, now may not be the perfect time to launch a business or an idea, but you can still establish a brand following/ loyalty that others couldn’t as they were too fearful to launch!
